Asuka is one of the most accomplished female wrestlers in the history of WWE, with four Women’s Championships to her credit across WWE’s three brands, multiple Tag Team Championships, the 2020 Ms. Money in the Bank and the 2018 Royal Rumble winner. Asuka was only the second ever women’s Grand Slam Champion. Asuka has not competed since the 2021 Money in the Bank ladder match as she’s been nursing an arm injury.
WWE has announced nineteen of the competitors for the women’s Royal Rumble match, leaving fans to speculate which superstars will fill the final eleven spots.
According to Andrew Zarian of MatMen Podcast, The Empress of Tomorrow “should be cleared by now.” Asuka, who won the very first women’s Royal Rumble match, would certainly change the landscape of either the Raw or SmackDown women’s division heading into WrestleMania season for the better. Both women’s rosters are stretched thin, with WWE not even having enough women on the active roster to fill a thirty woman Royal Rumble. Other key superstars such as Bayley and Lacey Evans could also be on the verge of a return, giving the division other potential boosts.
