On August 20th the world saw the return of CM Punk, as he made his debut for AEW. After almost 9 years the Best I the word stepped into the ring to declare he was back.
In a recent interview on the Angie Taylor show, punk revealed how nervous he was and that he was pacing in anticipation of his walkout. When a fan called in and asked if what was a moment that almost got him Punk spoke about an incident with Thunder Rosa.
“I’m going to call out Thunder Rosa. I was a nervous wreck the whole time and I’m pacing the hallways. I can’t sit still, I can’t watch a monitor, can’t talk to people. I’m running around and then I’m waiting to go out, waiting for my music to hit and she just looks at me and goes, ‘Hey, welcome back’ and I almost just burst into tears. I was just like, ‘you son-of-a-bitch,’ I just want to punch you right in the chest. She got me pretty good with that one. I don’t think that was her intention, but man, she got me.”
During the interview one of the hosts went on to ask if Punk could let out any spoilers on Daniel Bryan, Punk went on to say that all he could say was to tune into All-Out on September 5th, because its going to be an exciting show. Punk is set to take on Darby Allen in his first match back in wrestling.
