All Elite Wrestling has been a great landing spot for some talent. Over the last year, previously unknown or little known have taken their careers to the next level in the company, and they’re continuing to create new stars.
If you ask Cody Rhodes, he has a certain trio in mind. On today’s media call in promotion for Full Gear on Saturday, Cody Rhodes was asked about his work behind the scenes and during his answer began talking about the talent they’ve worked to elevate during the first year of the company, and who he thinks might take the next step.
“We have to build new stars, and it is my job to build new stars. Take a look, take a look at year one. Ricky Starks, MJF, Britt Baker, Sammy Guevara. We have a top, we have a middle, and we have a bottom. No other wrestling company can truly say that. Most have a top, then there’s 50 miles down, then there’s a bottom. We’re able to move guys up to the middle, move girls down to the middle, move them up. That is a good sign for what we’ve done with year one. Now I look at year two and look at who’s gonna be next. Is it gonna be Anna Jay? Is it gonna be Red Velvet? Who’s gonna be the–is Will Hobbs gonna be the next singles star?”
Hobbs and Jay have already begun being featured regularly on Dynamite, and it’s interesting to see if he’s right if any of that trio he mentioned in regards to year two will take the next step to stardom in AEW.
