Eli Drake is on a quest. That quest is to rid the world of Pro Wrestling of a style that became famous in a small bingo hall in Philadelphia. Hardcore wrestling became mainstream because of ECW and men like Tommy Dreamer, Taz, Sabu, Shane Douglas and others who put their bodies on the line in order to entertain in a brand new form of wrestling. It was hardcore, but it was passion for this sport. That style changed wrestling and continues to have an influence to this day.
Eli Drake wants that style to die a quick death. Eli feels it has no place in wrestling and wants it gone. Eli talked about that on IMPACT and was soon interrupted by the Hardcore Legend himself, Tommy Dreamer.
Eli Drake feels he is the last of a dying breed and wants to change wrestling back to the image that he thinks it should be. Can Eli defeat Tommy Dreamer next week on IMPACT? It would be a good start to Eli’s quest to get rid of a style that redefined a sport.
