The reigning IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team Champions – the Lucha Brothers – claimed additional honors this past weekend in Mexico City. The dynamic duo of Pentagon Jr. and Fenix received their Lucha Central 2018 Year End Awards.
Penta Zero M, as he is known in his native Mexico, was named the Luchador of the Year – and Fenix was the second runner-up for the award.Fenix, meanwhile, was named the Tecnico of the Year as the most technical wrestler – with 70 percent of the final vote. Fenix also received the award as the Most Spectacular Luchador of the Year. Former IMPACT star Laredo Kid was the second runner-up for the Most Spectacular Luchador of the Year, and Aerostar was the third runner-up.
Aerostar will be in action at IMPACT Wrestling’s United We Stand event April 4 in New Jersey. In addition, the Lucha Brothers were named the Tag Team of the Year – and they had a dominant 69 percent of the final vote.
And finally, Fenix was praised for the Match of the Year, when he battled Cavernario in the Leyenda de Plata tournament on November 23, 2018, at the fabled Arena Mexico in Mexico City.
Pentagon and Fenix will be in Windsor, Ontario, Canada this Friday and Saturday, March 22-23, for IMPACT Wrestling shows at St. Clair College. These are the final TV Tapings leading up to the Rebellion pay-per-view on April 28 in Toronto.
The Lucha Brothers also will be in the main event of United We Stand on April 4 in Rahway, New Jersey, in a non-title match against Rob Van Dam and Sabu. The Lucha Central 2018 Year End Awards also named Killer Kross the second runner-up for the Rudo of the Year, and Taya Valkyrie was the winner of the Luchadora of the Year award.
