When Kenny Omega and Rich Swann square off at IMPACT Rebellion for the Impact Wrestling World Title, it will have a familiar voice to wrestling fans calling the action, but not one of the usual Impact commentators.
According to Marc Raimondi of ESPN, Mauro Ranallo will return to pro wrestling to provide the play by play for the main event of the pay per view. Ranallo left WWE last year after being the lead announcer for NXT from 2017-2020. He joined the company in 2015 first as the lead commentator for SmackDown before moving to the black and gold brand. Ranallo continues to provide work for Showtime Boxing and Bellator, in addition to having called the Mike Tyson/Roy Jones Jr. fight last November.
Ranallo cited mental health issues as the reason he parted ways with the WWE, but for one night he will be back in pro wrestling to call this champion vs. champion match between Kenny Omega and Rich Swann.
