Last night on NXT, Kyle O’Reilly wound up working an injury angle. Unfortunately, it turned into a situation where fans online began to worry about his well being after a fan at the Capitol Wrestling Center tweeted out they believed O’Reilly was showing signs of having suffered a seizure. Eventually, word got out that O’Reilly was fine, but it still left a lot of people shaken up.
Fightful Select has now added more to this story and reported “one (dumb!) fan posted photos” of the stretcher job and it turned into the rumor of him having a seizure. We at Bodyslam in our inital report stated that fans reported signs of a seizure but had no confirmation and we were working to get more information.
O’Reilly is a Type 1 diabetic, which added to the concern of friends, fans, and members of the NXT locker room, where not everyone knew if this was a work or not.
Considering O’Reilly’s history with diabetes, this caused a lot of concern among even the NXT roster, who weren’t sure if the situation was real or not.
Since not everyone knew everything that went on during the show, not many people knew the full extent of the situation. WWE had no intention of trying to make it a seizure angle, and word started to get out he was okay. Thankfully O’Reilly is fine and it was simply a storyline.
