Pete Dunne threw a shoe at Adam Cole. Honestly.

May 3, 2018

The incredulous look on NXT North American Champion Adam Cole’s face said it all: Who throws a shoe? Honestly?!

Pete Dunne, that’s who.

In a scene right out of “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery,” The BruiserWeight launched a shoe right at Cole’s kisser after Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch helped Dunne fight off Undisputed ERA’s three-on-one attack Wednesday night.

The sneaker in question belonged to Kyle O’Reilly, and it fell off as O’Reilly and Cole ambushed the WWE U.K. Champion in the waning moments of Dunne’s grudge match with Roderick Strong. After ejecting Undisputed ERA from the ring, The BruiserWeight saw his opportunity, and he took it, picking up O’Reilly’s discarded footwear and whipping it directly at Cole outside the ring.

Proving his perfect aim isn’t limited to delivering forearm strikes, Dunne’s pitch caught The Panama City Playboy squarely in the face. If Lorcan & Burch’s unexpected backup of Dunne caught Undisputed ERA flat-footed, safe to say The BruiserWeight’s final blow put the band of rulebreakers on their heels.

As for Dunne, he just had one way to describe the incident, which is available for on-demand viewing on WWE Network:
