Rhea Ripley Talks About Having Her Theme Performed Live At WrestleMania

April 8, 2021

Rhea Ripley is getting some big time treatment when Ash Costello of New Year’s Day performs live at WrestleMania 37 to perform her entrance. It’s not every star that gets their theme performed live on the Grandest Stage of Them All, but Ripley will be joining that exclusive company this year.

She had a chance to talk about how it feels to have that with Renee Paquette on the newest episode of Oral Sessions, and Ripley revealed that she’s really excited because she’s actually a big fan of Costello’s band, New Year’s Day.

“So I think it was actually meant to happen last year. I didn’t hear anything about it but she messaged me, saying, ‘I’m sorry, this was supposed to be the moment.’ She had already been contacted by WWE but I got canceled before I heard about it. So they just messaged her this year as well and she said that she was down. It’s incredible because I’ve listened to New Year’s Day, which is the band that she sings in, for years now. I’ve met Ash before and she’s so lovely. I’m so glad that I get to share this WrestleMania moment with her and to know that they haven’t been able to tour and do shows as well and this is one of the biggest things that they’re going to be doing. It’s just out of nowhere. It’s super cool.”

She won’t be the only one to get that treatment this year, as Wale has been announced as a performer when he plays Big E down to the ring. The two of them join Bebe Rexha as announced performers at WrestleMania this year.
