Tony Khan Purchases Rights To Tom Waits Song To Keep Brodie Lee Tribute Video Intact

December 31, 2020

Last night’s AEW Dynamite ended with an emotional tribute video to Brodie Lee. Set to “Ol’ 55” by Tom Waits, many fans loved, laughed, and cried over the video and how it captured the spirit of Brodie Lee.

Now, the video will always remain that way.

Sometimes audio will have to be changed in replays and other distributions of a show due to not owning the rights to the song. This will not be the case, as Tony Khan took to Twitter in the moments after Dynamite to reveal he purchased the rights to the Tom Waits song so the video will remain in its original form no matter how many times it airs on demand, on YouTube, or anywhere else.

Last night’s tribute show to Lee was genuinely one of the warmest ways to pay tribute to a good man. You can see the announcement from Khan below, along with the video.
