A lot of information regarding the creatuve process and decision making has been coming from backstage in WWE this morning. First to address is Vince McMahon’s ovessesion for changing things last minute and rhe fact that he actually did it again during The Horror Show at Extreme Rules.
Dave Meltzer stated on Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince McMahon changed his mind about the RAW Women’s Title match on the day of the show. Asuka was set to win the match originally, but of course, Sasha Banks walked out as a double champion… or did she? It was not confirmed as to why Vince made this decision, but he doesn’t often tend to explain himself. It was simply a “last minute change.” RAW’s terrible rating last week “freaked them out” so this may have been a tactic to gey people tuning in to RAW tonight.
It is worth noting that Asuka is still listed as the RAW Women’s Champion on the official WWE website.
