The women’s Royal Rumble match lasted seventy-one minutes and had memorable moments. That included the debut of Xia Li, who had an impressive showing during the match.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed what WWE plans for Xia following the Royal Rumble.
“So the idea with Xia li is that they will always refer to her as the first Chinese wrestler in WWE History after this match. So I guess that is the idea.”
Surely WWE would like to get money from the Chinese market, since they have their own pro wrestling promotions. Pushing Xia as the first Chinese female WWE superstar might attract more fans. We will have to wait and see what happens to Xia.
