From the looks Of Tuesday’s Episode of NXT 2.0, Johnny Gargano could be on his way out of the promotion. After making a thank you speech to the NXT fans, Gargano was met at the ring by his former D.I.Y partner Tommaso Ciampa, Kyle O’Reilly, and his wife Candice LeRae.
There has been a lot of speculation regarding LeRae’s contract situation, due to her pregnancy. Fightful Select has reported an update on her status with WWE, stating that Candice’s deal as originally written is scheduled to expire in the Spring of 2022.
LeRae has continued to work all throughout her pregnancy, but her first child is due in February and she will presumably be taking time off. The report also stated that there have not been any talks about whether WWE will look to re-sign her.
Another question that has also been asked is, will WWE freeze her contract during her leave? The answer is currently unknown. WWE has previously been known for pausing contracts when wrestlers are out with injuries and adding that time on the back end of their deals. Fightful reported:
Many have inquired about whether or not WWE is able to freeze LeRae’s contract due to inactivity while she’s on paid maternity leave. We’re told that subject hasn’t been broached internally.
LeRae has been with WWE since 2018, and she also competed in the Inaugural Mae Young Classic. We will have to wait and see what the future will hold for LeRae.
