UFC Hall of Famer/IMPACT Wrestling star Ken Shamrock will be available for media interviews on November 5-6 in New York

The battle lines are set: the kids vs. Ken Shamrock!

Can the youngsters from the Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens in New York City topple a UFC Hall of Famer and pro wrestling legend… in a battle of Rock-Paper-Scissors?

The final round of a week-long tournament among the youngsters at the Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens will be held on Wednesday, November 6, at the Club, starting at 5 p.m. ET. The media and public are invited to attend this one-on-one, best-of-7 Rock-Paper-Scissors Championship, to be held at the Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens, located at 21-12 30th Road in Long Island City.

IMPACT Wrestling star Ken Shamrock, a member of the UFC Hall of Fame, will be available for in-person or in-studio interviews on Wednesday & Thursday, November 5-6 in advance of back-to-back nights of IMPACT Wrestling shows on Nov. 7-8, at Melrose Ballroom in Long Island City.

Shamrock will be available for phone interviews Nov. 5-6, time permitting.

In one corner, Shamrock, a muscle-packed in-ring titan known as “The World’s Most Dangerous Man” who can be seen Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT on AXS TV’s weekly series IMPACT! In the other corner, Shamrock’s opponent will be one of the students from the Variety Boys & Girls Club, who, no doubt, stillwill be ecstatic from Halloween candy and is a social media whiz.

If the youngster can defeat Shamrock, the lucky club kid will be awarded a one-night-contract to serve as a “Special Manager” for an IMPACT Wrestling match on Thursday night, Nov. 7, at Melrose Ballroom.

IMPACT Wrestling presents television tapings on both Thursday & Friday, Nov. 7-8, at the Melrose Ballroom (36-08 33rd St.) in New York City. Both shows will be taped for the company’s flagship show, IMPACT!, which airs on AXS TV every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT.

“We are so excited to have the legendary UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock come to the Club to battle our afterschool kids in this Rock-Paper-Scissors Championship. I can’t wait to see our kids beat him,” said Charles Melone, Athletic Director at the Variety Boys & Girls Club.

“IMPACT Wrestling has a long history partnering with local charities in the cities that we visit and the Variety Boys & Girls Club has hosted IMPACT Wrestling stars for years for basketball, dodgeball and other interactive activities and games,” said IMPACT Wrestling Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore. “Ken Shamrock is an intense, competitive former World Champion. I know he won’t go easy on the Club kids in Rock-Paper-Scissors.”

Ken Shamrock is widely regarded as one of the biggest stars in the history of mixed martial arts, an icon, pioneer and record-setter in the sport who has headlined numerous UFC events and was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2003. He got his start in pro wrestling in 1989 and became the first-ever IMPACT Wrestling World Champion at the promotion’s inaugural event in 2002. Earlier this year, Shamrock announced that he would begin his own bare-knuckle fighting promotion called “Valor Fight.” Its first event, held in September, was a sell-out in North Dakota.
