One year ago at Final Battle, Vincent and Bateman shattered Matt Taven’s ankle and put him out of action.
Now the odds are even, thanks to Mike Bennett returning to ROH to aid his best friend Taven in his war with The Righteous.
Taven and Bennett will take on Vincent and Bateman (accompanied by Vita VonStarr) in a grudge tag team match at the Final Battle pay-per-view on Dec. 18.
The match was signed as a result of the bout between Bennett and Vincent on last weekend’s episode of “Ring of Honor Wrestling” degenerating into a melee.
After Vincent was disqualified, he continued to assault Bennett, which led to Taven making the save and then Bateman getting involved. A brawl broke out between all four men, who eventually were separated by security.
It’s hard to believe that Taven and Bennett once considered Vincent to be a close friend, almost family. The three of them came up together on the New England independent wrestling scene, but Vincent has undergone a shocking transformation, both in appearance and mindset. He’s no longer the Vinny Marseglia they once knew.
Can OG Kingdom members Taven and Bennett conquer evil incarnate at ROH’s biggest show of the year? Or will “The Horror King” Vincent continue his reign of terror with Bateman?
