Marvel Rivals is going full god-tier chaos for Season 10.
Marvel Games and NetEase Games have unveiled full details for Marvel Rivals Season 10: Butcher’s Blasphemy, launching Friday, September 11, and the headline addition is a big one: Gorr the God Butcher is joining the roster.
The new season brings Gorr into the fight as he sets his sights on wiping out every deity across the Chronoverse. His arrival also brings the Faith-Harvesting Engine to the God Quarry, where Gorr seeks the power of the God Tempest imprisoned within Thor’s hammer in order to ignite his devastating Godbomb.
That is a very Marvel Rivals way to say the new season is not playing small.
Gorr the God Butcher Enters as a Duelist
Gorr arrives in Marvel Rivals as a Duelist, wielding All-Black the Necrosword with the kind of brutal precision fans would expect from the God Butcher.
In combat, Gorr’s All-Black can shift into different deadly forms depending on the situation, giving him a flexible and aggressive playstyle built around pressure, execution, and punishment. His kit also introduces one of the season’s biggest gameplay hooks: Black Berserkers.
By relentlessly executing enemies and absorbing their flesh, Gorr can convert them into Black Berserkers, then command that army to overwhelm his opponents. That alone gives him a strong identity in the roster, not just as another high-damage Duelist, but as a character built around momentum and battlefield control.
Gorr also uses symbiote assimilation to travel across the battlefield, allowing him to strike from unexpected angles. That should make him especially dangerous in the hands of players who like aggressive positioning, quick engagements, and forcing opponents to constantly look over their shoulders.
His Ultimate Ability takes things even further. When Gorr unleashes his ultimate, All-Black transforms into the Annihilablade, commanding all active Black Berserkers to launch a ruthless slaughter fest against his enemies.
For a character known as the God Butcher, that sounds about right.
God Quarry Joins the Map Rotation
Season 10 will also introduce the new God Quarry Domination map following the September 24 update.
The map ties directly into the season’s larger story, with Gorr bringing the Faith-Harvesting Engine to the God Quarry as part of his plan to use the God Tempest and ignite the Godbomb. For Marvel Rivals, that kind of map integration matters because the game has leaned heavily into its multiverse setup, using each season to bring new conflicts, locations, and character-driven chaos into the battlefield.
A Domination map built around the God Quarry should give Season 10 a clear identity beyond just adding a new hero. Gorr’s story is not just happening around the game. It is being built into the season’s playable space.
Jeff Takes Over With New Events
Players will not have to wait long for new events either.
Beginning September 11, players can look forward to new Pajama Party costumes. Then, after the September 18 update, two new Jeff-focused events will go live: Jeff’s Dream Eater and Jeff’s Superstar Search.
By participating in these events, players can earn matching hero costumes and cosmetic rewards. It is a smart seasonal contrast. On one side, Gorr is trying to wipe out gods and build a Godbomb. On the other, Jeff is bringing event rewards and character costumes.
Honestly, that is the kind of tonal whiplash Marvel Rivals seems built for.
Galacta’s Gift Returns
The September 24 update will also bring back the highly requested Galacta’s Gift event, giving players another opportunity to earn a Costume Coin.
Alongside the event’s return, the Costume Coin Exchange Store will be refreshed with a new selection of rewards. For players who have been waiting for another shot at cosmetics, this should be one of the bigger quality-of-life and reward-focused beats of the season.
The season will also introduce a new rotation of College Student Perks. Verified college students will be able to access 10 costumes and MVPs by verifying their university email, unlocking the latest selection of benefits.
Path to Doomsday Continues in Season 10.5
Season 10 is also setting up what comes next.
In the second half of the season, Path to Doomsday continues with Phase 3: Avengers Infinity War and Phase 4: Avengers Endgame. Season 10.5 will introduce two brand-new game modes as part of that rollout.
That gives the season a wider Marvel event feel. Gorr headlines the main launch, God Quarry brings the new map, Jeff gets the event spotlight, and Path to Doomsday continues pushing the game toward larger Avengers-themed content.
For players following Marvel Rivals as an ongoing live-service game, this is the kind of layered update that keeps the calendar busy.
Marvel Rivals IGNITE Series Stage 2 Begins September 17
Competitive players also have something to watch this month.
Stage 2 of the Marvel Rivals IGNITE Series kicks off September 17, with 12 teams from four major global regions competing for a chance to advance to the year-end Global Finals. More details are expected through the official Marvel Rivals website and social channels.
That competitive push continues to show how Marvel Rivals is balancing its casual, cosmetic, and esports-facing audiences. Season 10 is bringing new lore, a major character drop, a new map, limited-time events, rewards, and competitive momentum all at once.
Butcher’s Blasphemy Brings Big Villain Energy
Season 10 feels built around one clear idea: make Gorr feel terrifying.
From the God Quarry to the Godbomb, from the Faith-Harvesting Engine to All-Black the Necrosword, Butcher’s Blasphemy is leaning into the scale and menace that makes Gorr one of Marvel’s most dangerous villains. More importantly, his Duelist kit sounds like it gives players a real reason to care beyond name recognition.
If Gorr’s ability to create and command Black Berserkers lands well in actual matches, he could become one of the season’s most disruptive roster additions. His mobility, execution-focused combat, and Ultimate Ability all suggest a character designed for players who want to stay aggressive and punish openings fast.
Marvel Rivals Season 10: Butcher’s Blasphemy launches Friday, September 11, with Gorr the God Butcher joining the roster, new Pajama Party costumes, Jeff events, Galacta’s Gift, God Quarry, College Student Perks, IGNITE Series Stage 2, and more updates rolling out throughout the season.
