Eck’s Files: Date Set For Dragon Lee-Dalton Castle World TV Title Match; Kenny King, Mike Bennett To Meet On Week By Week

November 5, 2021

By Kevin Eck

The ROH World Television Title Match between champion Dragon Lee and Dalton Castle will headline Ring of Honor Wrestling the weekend of Nov. 20.

Castle has been very busy, but he’s also been on a roll. The flamboyant former ROH World Champion has only lost one one-on-one singles match in 2021, and that was a Pure Rules Match against Josh Woods back in January.

Lee has been on an even bigger roll. Lee, who also is a co-holder of the ROH World Tag Team Title, has not lost a one-on-one singles match since February 2020, when he came up just short against then-ROH World Champion PCO.

La Faccion Ingobernable’s Kenny King and The OGK’s Mike Bennett will square off on the next episode of ROH Week By Week, which premieres Tuesday at 1 p.m. Eastern on YouTube.

Although they are both ROH veterans, this will be just the second singles match between King and Bennett and the first in more than 10 years.

The OGK (Bennett and Matt Taven) challenges ROH World Tag Team Champions King and Lee on the Honor For All show, which airs exclusively for HonorClub members on Sunday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. Eastern.

A six-man tag match between The Righteous (Vincent, Bateman and Dutch) and The Foundation (Jonathan Gresham, Tracy Williams and Rhett Titus) will headline Ring of Honor Wrestling the weekend of Nov. 13.

As noted in last week’s Eck’s Files, Vincent has talked about The Righteous being “purified” and he’s seemingly become a supporter of The Foundation, the purveyors of Pure Wrestling.

Is Vincent on the level? Will The Righteous wrestle a clean match? I have my doubts, and I’m sure The Foundation does as well.

Also on that episode: The OGK faces PJ Black and Flip Gordon, and Beer City Bruiser takes on Caprice Coleman. I knew Bruiser (and his cohorts Brian Milonas and Ken Dixon) could only push Coleman so far before Coleman demanded a match with him.

Bruiser is as tough as they come, but Coleman is a commentator in ROH by choice. He’s in phenomenal shape and is a champion on the independent circuit.

Speaking of Coleman, I highly recommend checking out his weekly column, A Dose of Colemanism, every Thursday on ROHWrestling.com. This week’s column, titled “Times of Uncertainty,” is especially good.

Schedule change: Next week’s episode of The ROHStrong Podcast featuring Rocco will drop on Tuesday morning on ROHWrestling.com and most podcast platforms. The podcast will go back to dropping on Mondays the following week.

Rocco is quite a character and it was an entertaining conversation. We discussed his goals as a manager in ROH, his pro wrestling journey and much more.

A tag match pitting Willow and Trish Adora against Vita VonStarr of The Righteous and Gia Scott will take place on the next episode of Women’s Division Wednesday, which premieres at 7 p.m. Eastern on YouTube.

This weekend’s episode of Ring of Honor Wrestling is the Championship Edition.

ROH World Champion Bandido defends against Alex Zayne, and Woods makes his first defense of the ROH Pure Title defense against LSG.

Reminder: Tickets for Final Battle: End of an Era on Saturday, Dec. 11 at Baltimore’s Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena went on sale this morning for the general public.

This will undoubtedly be a historic event that no one who has ever been an ROH fan should miss.

Until next time, keep safe and stay #ROHStrong!
