Last night, MLW announced they would start a television deal with VICE TV later this spring. While no details were given, apparently this was not the first time a wrestling promotion was offered a similar deal with the network.
Mike Johnson at PWInsider has reported that sources at VICE TV have noted New Japan Pro Wrestling was offered a similar deal last year, but the company turned the deal down. It’s been an interesting time for NJPW, who also turned down AXS but ended up on the Roku Channel. However, their deal is not exclusive.
MLW’s debut was just recently announced for May on VICE TV, looking to coincide it seems with the new season of Dark Side of the Ring.
