Rocky Romero Reveals Kenny Omega And The Good Brothers Did Not Have Permission To Wear Bullet Club Merchandise On Impact

February 8, 2021

Ever since the Good Brothers reunited with Kenny Omega, the Bullet Club name has been tossed around a lot. It didn’t help that the trio arrived at Impact’s Hard to Kill pay per view wearing Bullet Club merchandise. One person who would know if they had permission to do that is Rocky Romero.

Romero wears a lot of hats for New Japan, as he’s not only a performer, but helps with the company’s US expansion and works backstage for the company. He was a guest on the Wrestling Perspective podcast where the crew asked him if the trio had permission to wear Bullet Club merchandise that night. As it turns out, they didn’t. However, Romero thinks it probably helped business a bit.

“They did not get the okay to do that. They did not. It was a little strange for a second. I think it’s okay now, but it was kinda out of left field. I think everyone was just a little taken aback for a second, but I mean either way I’m sure it was good for Bullet Club t-shirt sales, so I mean it all worked out in the end.”

As we now know, AEW and NJPW now have a working relationship, which means it’s probably easier to see those shirts on AEW broadcasts now. KENTA even showed up with his Go2Sleep Club shirt that signifies his Bullet Club membership. While the trio wearing that merchandise is probably still stirring up Tama Tonga, it’s probably still managing to put money in his pocket as American fans continue to see the group as reuniting with their Japan faction.

If only they’d get over the bad blood. You can watch the interview below.
