Who Has The Slammiversary Edge?

June 12, 2018

Thursday night we find out the Main Event of Slammiversary as Moose goes one on one with Eli Drake. Who will go on to face Austin Aries for the World Title on July 22nd at Slammiversary in Toronto?

So who has the edge?

Signature Move
The Gravy Train vs. The Game Changer

We have watched Eli Drake deliver the Gravy Train to almost everyone on the IMPACT Roster and it has connected with success and victories. Eli has his opponent upside down and drives them into the canvas directly onto the top of their spine or the bottom of the neck. It drives a painful sensation into the entire body of the man on the wrong end of the Gravy Train. The counter to the Gravy Train is a school-boy pinning opportunity, as we have seen from Eli’s opponents, you sink down and hook Eli and attempt a pinfall. The problem is that Eli has you hooked tight and you only have a spilt second to counter.

Moose comes correct with the Game Changer. First Moose winds you up and then rocks your entire body with a clothesline. It is blunt and direct and can take all the air out of your lungs for much longer than the three seconds Moose needs to pick up a win. Moose uses all his force and drives it through his opponents body.

Advantage: The Gravy Train

Experience

Moose has been competing in IMPACT Wrestling for the past several years. Before that Moose has spent some time competing for various promotions around the United States and before that Moose was on the gridiron playing offensive lineman in the NFL. Moose is well trained as an athlete and is just scratching the surface as a wrestler. The big man has come a long way in a short period of time.

Eli Drake has been at this game for a while now and knows all the tricks to the trade. Remember when Eli Drake came into IMPACT? He was part of a group called the Rising and everyone on the planet knew one thing about that group. Eli was in this group because it got him into IMPACT, Eli wasn’t concerned with Drew or Mika, the Namer of Dummies was only worried about himself and the World Title.

We like that about Eli Drake.

Advantage: Eli Drake

Intangibles

Who has that something special? That something extra? That last bit of motivation in match or when the odds are stacked against them? Eli Drake is a former World Champion who won his title in Gauntlet for the Gold against 19 other Stars. Eli entered at Number 1 and survived. That is special.

Moose has become a fan favorite. Someone that the fans can appreciate, they get the best effort out of Moose every night and they know that. Moose can rely on his fans the way they can rely on him. They trust each other. That is important.

How does it affect this match?

Advantage: Even

Who Will Win?

This is a tough one to call. Nearly impossible. We can’t make a prediction, but you can see what we looked at today and total up the advantages and give the edge to Eli Drake. However, this is why they compete, this is why we have the match. Thursday night anything can happen.

Eli Drake vs. Moose takes place on Thursday night and the winner will go to the Main Event of Slammiversary to challenge Austin Aries for the World Title. We wish both men the best of luck Thursday night.
