Dynamite on Wednesday ended with that bloody spectacle above, and with Hangman Page still reigning as AEW World Champion. In addition, Jade Cargill succesfully defended her TBS Championship against a very game AEW newcomer in AQA, “Limitless” Keith Lee arrived on the scene at the expense of Isiah Kassidy, and “Switchblade” Jay White strolled through The Forbidden Door to help The SuperKliq assault Trent Beretta. To follow all that up, Rampage is absolutely stacked with a long awaited tag team grudge match, HOOK in action, the AEW Women’s World Champion competing, and a tag team championship fight!

The fights get underway at 10pm EST/9pm CST on TNT, as well as at AEWPlus.com for our international audience, so be sure to get ready for Rampage by visting the official AEW YouTube channel for Dynamite highlights, the latest episodes of Dark: Elevation, AEW Dark, and Road To!

AEW WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH…

Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus(c) vs. The Gunn Club (Austin & Colten)

The Gunn Club (or Ass Boys if you prefer) are undefeated as a tag team, 3-0 in 2022 and 7-0 overall, and while that is the most important part of the equation, there is also the fact that they’ve evolved into a unit you cannot take your eyes off of. Whether it’s the Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules show that Austin stars on, their antics on the stage moments after JB and Luchasaurus won the tag titles, or their on-going social media battles with Danhausen, it is impossible to not pay attention to Austin and Colten.

In Chicago last week, they certainly made the World Tag Team Champions pay attention with a bit of an assault on Jungle Boy that got him tossed in the snow outside the Wintrust Arena. Between that and the assault on Christian Cage, The Gunn Club has most certainly garnered the full attention of Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, and Cage.

This Friday night, Austin and Colten will get their opportunity to climb up to the top of heap and rule the tag team division, all they have to do is topple one of the best teams AEW has produced. JB and Luchasaurus beat The Lucha Brothers to become champs, they topped Private Party and The Dark Order to remain as such, and in this third championship defense, they are not about to let their hard-earned titles slip away.

There is of course the outside factor of Billy Gunn, but Christian Cage’s presence should ideally neutralize that, leaving the four men to battle it out for the most important prizes in tag team wrestling today! Will The Gunn Club be the ones to end it for Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus? Or will the defending champions continue their reign as AEW heads towards Revolution 2022 (Event Details) on March 6th?

SEND HIM…

HOOK vs. QT Marshall’s Top Student Blake Li

QT Marshall is an angry, agitated, fed up individual right now, and it is all because of one “Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil” who the AEW fanbase has rallied behind since his debut. By now fans are aware of the history between HOOK and The (Nightmare) Factory, how he trained with QT there, and how Marshall has nothing but negative things to say about his experiences with the young man; “He did nothing but show up late, eat potato chips, and stretch people” was essentially the picture painted of HOOK as QT’s student.

So the fact that HOOK has experienced so much success since his in-ring debut has clearly eaten up QT, and it was only compounded when HOOK beat Aaron Solo, dropped QT on his head in the middle of the ring, and then dropped Marshall again on the stage a couple weeks later! And in a final act of disrespect, HOOK stepped over the battered body of Marshall after once again dropping The Factory head with a suplex.

Now QT is sending his top student after HOOK, a young man named Blake Li that no one has seen before is coming to Rampage to try to be the one to end this hot streak. Will this neophyte be the latest victim of Redrum, or does Marshall have an ace up his sleeve with this Blake Li? We shall find out Friday night!

TAG TEAM GRUDGE MATCH…

The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. Roppongi Vice (Rocky Romero & Trent Beretta)

It was supposed to happen several weeks ago, but medical protocols necessitated a postponement of the bout and instead fans witnessed Trent Beretta defeat Nick Jackson in a rare singles bout for The Young Buck.

Thankfully the match between Roppongi Vice and The Young Bucks is finally going down, but as can be seen in the video embedded above, a definite wrinkle was thrown into the equation when “Switchblade” Jay White strolled into the picture to help The SuperKliq assault Trent and Rocky! Now Jay has had some recent interactions with members of the AEW roster over on New Japan Strong, specifically defeating Christopher Daniels and Jay Lethal, but he also made some overtures towards Adam Cole. Is that why he dropped in on AEW Wednesday night?

Whatever his rationale may be, Jay White is not one of the men in this bout, it is Roppongi Vice and The Young Bucks who will lock up for the first time in over four years! They’ve fought all over the globe, in nearly ever major arena in Japan, and now it comes back around here in AEW. The numbers tilt in favor of The Young Bucks, but it’s a whole new ballgame here in front of the Atlantic City AEW fans!

THE CHAMP IS HERE…

AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D vs. Robyn Renegade

In her first singles match since the Battle of the Belts victory over Riho, the AEW Women’s World Champion will be in action this Friday night on Rampage. Her opponent for the evening, Robyn Renegade, has looked quite impressive in her AEW outings thus far against Nyla Rose, Penelope Ford, Leyla Hirsch, and others, but this bout against the World Champion, even without the title on the line, is absolutely the biggest one of her career! It would be a wild upset if Robyn found a way to win, would definitely rocket her name to the headlines, and leave the Good Doctor with some questions to ask herself. All it takes is three seconds, and Robyn Renegade is certainly capable of finding a way to make that happen!

Now in the big picture for Baker, with that video embedded above, Baker has to know she’s opened herself up for a whole new level of hurt by owning up to Mercedes Martinez’s return to AEW. Why the Women’s World Champion would admit responsibility for the assault on Thunder Rosa that put La Mera Mera out of the TBS Title Tournament is anyone’s guess, but Britt wouldn’t do so if she wasn’t supremely confident there’s nothing Rosa can do about it. We now know Rosa and Martinez will collide in a No DQ fight on Dynamite, but what will be the ramifications for the AEW Women’s World Champion?
